I have resisted the urge for two days, but resist for longer i could not !
So at least Lincs Police have got first place for something.
Training is just about starting on the renowned hills of Lincolnshire to get used to the slight undulating course that is the Cheviot, and we will be arriving in Wooler for this years race with 9 teams all ready to compete for the golden boot !
Happy Training, and see you all in the summer.
Any word on how damp it is yet around the course please anyone ?
Jon
VERY VERY VERY Damp !!!!!
Good luck with the training and we'll be pleased to see you in June
Gary.
Very very very damp and very very very cold! The snow might have melted by June.....
Its actually so wet up there at the moment that locals reported seeing an otter next to the trig point last week. However this was eaten by a polar bear on tuesday night.
I went for a stroll up cheviot today just so I could give Jon an acurate answer to his question about how damp it is at the moment...
and I can report that none of the bogs are soggy at the moment. mainly because they are under about two foot of snow! visibility was pretty good for the chevs, about 10 feet.
My profile photo is actually taken in front of the summit trig point. Im not a giant, the bottom couple of feet of the pillar is just buried. The fence that runs along side the summit path isn't even visible at the moment and the ladder stile that you cross before getting to the first check point is only just poking out of the snow!
If thats your profile picture.....you are completely greyed out, with that, the polar bears, the otter, and i have heard tonight on the Calendar news programme that the Lincolnshire Black Panther is up there (Not the black dog that jumps out and causes Polacs!), things are certainly looking good for this years race, but it's worth the pain to have that sweet cup of tea at the end.....what colour are the t shirts this year ? Panther black ?
It's a state of mind !
